From Boulaincourt to Combeux on the edge of a forest. Along the way saw one ruined church and a graveyard with interesting tombs.

Cool but quite creepy tomb

Much nicer day today, but windy. Crossed the river to look at an interesting ruin on the map which turned out to be a church at the top of a steep hill, but nice all the same.

the most interesting place today

James thought this was an appropriate sign for a village on a hill

desolation

The last 1/3 of the day was spent cycling along long, bumpy, empty tracks through a huge forest (forest of Orleans)

Never ending tracks through the forest

Some very impressive forest, these trees are massive

then finally into a little village at the end and an ok campsite. The forest is great, very old, huge trees.

Empty but pleasant. We are learning to camp near the wash block

Pasta, bacon, pepper and leeks

Loire tomorrow.
